The labor unions, being the socio-politic organization of the working class and the laboring people, represent  and  safeguard  the  rights  and  the  lawful  interests  of  carders,  workers,  employees; participate in the State administration, control, and supervision of the activity of the State agencies; educate  and  encourage  the  carders,  workers, and  employees  to  promote the  ownership,  fulfill obligations of citizenship, build and do their utmost for national construction and defense. All this time, the Labor Union organization of the School has continuously contributed to the movement on
building it in all ways.

 School of Social Sciences and Humanities was established in July, 2009 by Decision No…/QĐ- ĐHCT dated in 2009 of Rector of Can Tho University, based on separating from School of Education. It has gradually made stable steps toward integrating into the international education and training.

The processes of construction and development of the School’s Labor Union organization in recent year have associated with the guidances of the Party and Union on high, as well as the great supports of head board department, departments under the School and Unions, in company with the
workers, carders and employees. The executive board initially elected five members. 

By this time, the Labor Union of School of Social Sciences and Humanities passed three congresses because of separating into School of Foreign Languages, the executive board recently has three
members:

After the Decision, which was approved, established School of Foreign Languages, at present the total number of staff members is 47 comrades with five divisions of the Labor Union directly.

The list of the Labor Union division under the authority of the School’s Labor Union:

1.  The Labor Union division of Vietnamese Linguistics and Literature;
2.  The Labor Union division of Sociology
3.  The Labor Union division of History - Geography - Tourism
4.  The Labor Union division of Library and Information Management.
5.  The Labor Union division of Administration Office

The main activities of the School’s Labor Union in the 2013-2015 term included: 

1.  Propagandizing the Party’s directions and policies the State’s directions, policies and laws, and the duties of the Labor Union, and educating to enhance the political, cultural, lawful and professional knowledge.
2. Examining, supervising the implementation of regimes, policies and laws, and ensuring the execution of interests of the carders, workers, employees, fighting against the negative, corruption and social evils, thrift practice and anti-prodigality, and discovering and participating in settlement of complaints and accusations, and implementing the rights of the labor union at grassroots level as stipulated by in the laws.
3.  Coordinating  with  the  chief  officer  in  organizing  the  implementation  of  the  democracy regulation and the conference of annual unit staff; accompany with the chief in improving working conditions, taking care of the life of the carders, workers, employees, organizing social and charity activities.
4.  Organizing to campaign the carders, workers, employees of unit for patriotic emulation, to perform their obligations to do join management, renovate the working style in order to enhance the quality and efficiency of the work.
5.  Developing management of unionists; building the trade union at grassroots level strongly and participating in construction the State. Believe that, with the judicious leadership of the Party, the executive board, and all lecturers that are unionists, the trade union’s staff is going to continue to bring into play the achievements attained, to be determined to do overcome all difficulties, to fulfil successfully the objectives, missions which the Congress put forward in this term, and to accomplish the political tasks of the unit very well. /.
